We’re Moving!

For 13 incredible years, Springs Ensemble Theatre has used our venue on Cache La Poudre Street location to bring the magic of theatre to life. From our first production there, The Smell of the Kill in 2010, to our recent staged reading of Midge and the Butcher, and the over 50 productions between, we’ve done our best to bring a warm sense of belonging to our theater’s seats.

It is with a great sense of bittersweetness that we must announce:

We are moving.

SET has nothing but bright memories stored in our Cache La Poudre home. Unfortunately, despite never missing a rent payment, the rent has ballooned – following the national trend across the country, SET must now vacate our space through no fault of our own.

But we are thrilled to announce we have a new home at the 59er Speakeasy at Dice Guys in Old Colorado City. As you can imagine, we have some work ahead of us to reconfigure the new space. The move will give us a slightly increased seating capacity while still preserving our intimate theatrical experience. We’re determined to open our 14th season there this fall.

We’re still working on finding a performance location for our upcoming production of The Boys in the Band by Mart Crowley set to happen June 1 -18 in celebration of pride month. We’re hoping to know more about that by the end of this week.

Over the next weeks and months we’ll give you an inside look into what we’re doing and how you can help. Expect to see some sales, some calls for community help, and even a party or two (or three) as we celebrate the move.

Keep an eye out here on our Facebook page and our website for updates!

SET can’t wait to start our next adventure. Together, we’ll experience the joys of storytelling, craft creative works of art, and continue building a thriving theatre community here in Colorado Springs.
