Springs Ensemble Theatre continues our sixth season with a Mother’s Day special limited run of Motherhood Out Loud, a collection of scenes and stories that show the joys and terrors of being a mother and celebrates motherhood in all its forms.

When entrusting the subject of motherhood to such a dazzling collection of celebrated American writers including Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart), Michele Lowe (The Smell of the Kill) and Theresa Rebeck (NBC’s Smash), what results is a joyous, moving, hilarious series of monologues and choral pieces. Utterly unpredictable, Motherhood Out Loud shatters traditional notions about parenthood, unveils its inherent comedy and celebrates the deeply personal truths that span and unite generations. For everyone who has a mother, is a mother, knows or loves a mother, this play is for you. Motherhood Out Loud is a special limited-run engagement that is the perfect way to spend some time with the woman who gave us all so much. SET is thrilled to be celebrating the mothers in our lives with this play by some of America’s most exciting theatrical voices!

SET’s production is co-directed by Jenny Maloney and Sarah S. Shaver. It features performances by SET members Jodi Papproth, Crystal Carter, Jillmarie Peterson, Matt Radcliffe, Christine Vitale, and Sarah S. Shaver. It also features performances from guest artists Kim Bennett, Mark E. Cannon, LeAnne Carrouth, Robin Faris, Lynne Hastings, Catherine McGuire, Brianna G. Pilon, Ellen Regina, Miriam Roth, Sallie Walker, John Zincone, and the mother-daughter combination Dawn & Brooke Ashbridge.
